The summer 2021 portal is now closed for traditional applications as we are at our capacity. Traditional students can apply for our fall, 2021 program. *Please do not, if you are a traditional student, apply in the advanced standing portal for summer as your application may not be considered.
Traditional MSW Program Fast Facts
- Available to residents in all 50 states (some exceptions in FL)
- Clinically focused to qualify students for social work licensure
- Program includes two social work field placements
- 61 credit hours
- Pace: Part-time (2 courses per semester online)
- Courses are 16 weeks; summer may have 12- or 13-week courses, depending on the year
- Average completion time: Three years
- Two mandatory weekends on campus for skill-building sessions (usually second and third semesters)
Admission Requirements At-a-Glance
- You have baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution
- GRE not required for those who meet waiver criteria
- You have a 3.0 GPA or better on everything past the first 60 hours of undergraduate courses (upper-division GPA), or you must have earned a master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Submit a statement of purpose and resume
- If you have completed a baccalaureate degree in social work, please visit the Advanced Standing Program page
It is recommended that the application be submitted 9 to 12 months prior to the proposed term of enrollment.

Pursue a License in Social Work with In-Field Placements
As an online MSW student, you’ll participate in social work field placements that will qualify you to pursue a license in clinical social work upon graduation. Both our Advanced Standing and Traditional online Master of Social Work programs are clinically-focused so you’ll get the real-world experience you need to be career-ready. Our social work programs are part-time to accommodate busy working professionals.
